The Vincennes Farmers Market is an annual market selling local produce, arts and crafts, taking place every Saturday from 8:30 am - 1 pm and every Wednesday from 4-8pm from Memorial Day weekend until the end of October. The Farmers Market is a popular event and also includes entertainment and food. The vendors will also have a special market on June 27, in commemoration of the 250th year of the Signing of the Declaration.

Engineering FYI is a Purdue University on-campus event inaugurated in 2012 designed to increase interest in engineering for students who have recently completed sixth, seventh and eighth grade. The Women in Engineering (WiE) Program hosts this daylong event during the summer in West Lafayette. The event is for students who have an interest in learning more about engineering and would like to connect with Purdue Engineering student mentors and peer participants. Students are able to apply their imagination and creativity to hands-on projects while collaborating in small teams and investigating a variety of engineering disciplines. Students obtain an excellent opportunity to hone their leadership skills, make new friends and experience how engineers help shape our world!

If you love seeing wildlife, or just enjoy exploring, kayaking is for you! Kayaks let you reach backwater areas and quiet bays that aren’t otherwise accessible; it’s a wonderful way to experience Monroe Lake.

This 2.5 hour workshop is specifically designed for beginners with zero (or very little) paddling experience. We’ll teach you basic paddling and safety skills and provide supervised paddling time in a quiet water area to practice.

Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are included in the class fee; please do not bring your own.

Registrations are considered final and no refunds or date transfers are available, with limited exceptions. Whether you are learning to fish or simply seizing every opportunity to be near the water, our Fishin’ Pond is a great place to cast a line. Skilled volunteers will be available to help children cast, fish, and remove fish from lines.

Fishin’ is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the Indiana State Fair from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. ET. The DNR State Fair Fishin’ Pond is located behind the DNR building on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

This activity is appropriate for beginners or experienced anglers. Bait and cane poles are provided. Fishin’ is catch and release only.

Don’t forget to take photos at our photo stations after your fishin’ fun and tag posted pictures with #FishINPond.

Please note that upon arrival, adults will register the children with them and select a fishin’ time. Each child will have a volunteer working with them. Volunteers have completed background checks with the State of Indiana.

Just for kids! The kid’s corner has a puppet stage, games, puzzles, large felt board, picture books, touch table, and a “small world” playscape. There’s also a coloring table and a selection of kid-friendly board games.

Recycle your aluminum cans with us! Proceeds fund programs, activities, and exhibits. You can also recycle plastic bottles and paper (no food containers).

Persons failing to appear for 3 exams in a given calendar year may result in the cancelation by INDOT of future registrations for that year.

Ticket sales open roughly 3 weeks prior to the exam date and close once the tickets are all sold out or once the registration closure date has passed. All 6 CTP exams are offered at each exam session in Electronic format. An individual can sign up AT MOST for two exams on a given exam day, and one exam per exam session (AM or PM).

If the event is sold out, please select "I'm Interested" to be added to the waitlist. If there are cancelations we may open the event back up for a short duration to allow the users on the waitlist to register.

Electronic Manual w/ Electronic Exam ticket - a PDF Certified Tech Manual is provided to the registrant for use during the exam. The registrant's self-provided electronic device will be used to enter the Exam, and results are available immediately upon completion.Two sessions are available on each exam date. Please arrive prior to the test session start time to allow for set-up, sign-in, etc. The session times are as follows:

The AM session begins at 8:30 sharp and ends at 11:15.The PM session begins at 11:45 sharp and ends at 2:30.Registrants will be provided everything needed to take the exam upon arrival at the testing location: a CTP eManual per their registration, a standard testing calculator, and a pencil and scratch paper. Participants may opt to use their own physical, single-use non-programmable scientific calculator upon approval from the administrating proctor. Access to an INDOT Standard Specifications Manual is available upon request. Backup paper exams will not be provided.

Phones must be turned off and put away for the duration of the exam. Exceptions may be addressed with the administrating proctor prior to the exam period, for emergency situations.

If you have not previously taken an Electronic exam, please arrive at least 20 minutes early to set up your device and ensure a smooth testing experience.

Registrants taking the exam are required to have an account on the INDOT Training Portal or SuccessFactors no later than a week prior to the exam date. This account ID is requested at the time of registration. Please have the registrant's account ID on-hand at registration.

Participants are required to be registered through the INDOT Training Portal. If you have a PeopleSoft ID, you do not need to create an account throught the Training Portal. If you do not have a PeopleSoft ID, please create a NEW User Account in the Training Portal using the step by step instructions below. New Training Portal accounts can take up to 3-5 days to approve in the system.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Active Shooter Incident Management with Complex Incidents course provides a model framework to
improve incident management and the integration of law enforcement, fire, and EMS responders during
active shooter event response, improving time to threat neutralization, medical intervention, and
survivability of victims. This is an integrated response course for a cross-discipline audience of law
enforcement, fire/EMS, telecommunicator, public information officers, emergency managers, and a law
enforcement helicopter pilot.

The framework utilizes the Active Shooter Incident Management Checklist, a validated active shooter
event response checklist, integrating best practices guided by principles of the National Incident
Management System (NIMS), Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), and Advanced Law
Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT). Participants will learn organizational building blocks
for an integrated response including Contact Team, Rescue Task Force, Tactical, Perimeter, Triage,
Transport, Intelligence, and Reunification through progressively challenging full-length Active Shooter
Event functional exercise scenarios and hands-on experience in multiple response roles. The course also
introduces participants to Complex Coordinated Attacks (CCA), including the added complexities of
improvised explosive devices, an attacker who becomes static, barricades or takes hostages, and a multimodal CCA.

Fishin’ is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the Indiana State Fair from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. ET. The DNR State Fair Fishin’ Pond is located behind the DNR building on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

This activity is appropriate for beginners or experienced anglers. Bait and cane poles are provided. Fishin’ is catch and release only.

Engineering FYI is a Purdue University on-campus event inaugurated in 2012 designed to increase interest in engineering for students who have recently completed sixth, seventh and eighth grade. The Women in Engineering (WiE) Program hosts this daylong event during the summer in West Lafayette. The event is for students who have an interest in learning more about engineering and would like to connect with Purdue Engineering student mentors and peer participants. Students are able to apply their imagination and creativity to hands-on projects while collaborating in small teams and investigating a variety of engineering disciplines. Students obtain an excellent opportunity to hone their leadership skills, make new friends and experience how engineers help shape our world!

IDEM, OWQ will not provide responses to questions or comments made during the hearing.

IDEM will review all comments and questions received during the hearing, and submitted as part of the public comment period, and after careful consideration and further analysis, if necessary, provide detailed responses in writing as part of the final decision.

The hearing will run until 7:00 p.m. EDT or when all testimony has been heard from attendees; whichever comes first.

Beginner and eager to learn? You'll find a helpful teacher here!
Beginners should bring a pair of needles (size 6 to 9), and a skein of light colored, worsted weight yarn. Worsted weight yarn is also labeled 4. Light colors are recommended as it is easier to see individual stitches with the light color.

The Vincennes Farmers Market is an annual market selling local produce, arts and crafts, taking place every Saturday from 8:30 am - 1 pm and every Wednesday from 4-8pm from Memorial Day weekend until the end of October. The Farmers Market is a popular event and also includes entertainment and food. The vendors will also have a special market on June 27, in commemoration of the 250th year of the Signing of the Declaration.

Just for kids! The kid’s corner has a puppet stage, games, puzzles, large felt board, picture books, touch table, and a “small world” playscape. There’s also a coloring table and a selection of kid-friendly board games.

Recycle your aluminum cans with us! Proceeds fund programs, activities, and exhibits. You can also recycle plastic bottles and paper (no food containers).

Come to Shades (one of Indiana's darkest night skies) for a night of fun and celestial wonder, we can't wait for you to join us.

What you can expect:

8-10 pm: Children's activities in the field NEXT TO the visitor parking lot of the family campgrounds

10pm-12am: Meteor Shower observation:

- Wabash Valley Astronomical Society, Indiana Astronomical Society, and park Naturalists will be stationed along the pollinator fields (on the road leading to Pine Hills) with telescopes pointing at various celestial objects. The public is welcome to come look through the scopes and ask questions!

- The road leading to Pine Hills will be BLOCKED to vehicular traffic starting at 6 pm on Saturday, the 16th. This is so that no vehicles disturb the viewing opportunities in the most open field of view in the park.

- Traffic will be directed into parking areas, with instructions on how to get to main viewing location.

Demonstrating the goals of NIMS and the NRF//
Emphasizing the nature and purpose of a USFA Type 3 AHIMT so that others in the community and emergency services are more willing and able to assist within various components of their local USFA Type 3 AHIMT//
Demonstrating the critical role that leadership and teamwork skills play in the success of an USFA Type 3 AHIMT//
Providing a basic framework for building and maintaining critical interpersonal communications and for working together as a team member of an USFA Type 3 AHIMT//
Offering practical experience of on-scene operations through extensive exercises and simulations, as well as through post-course refresher training by providing students with the opportunity to perform as members of a USFA Type 3 AHIMT during a mock incident management situation///////Target Audience: The target audience of this course is entry level participants who are new to an assignment on an AHIMT. Given its intended audience, participants in this course should include emergency response personnel, such as fire protection and law enforcement personnel, emergency medical services (EMS) responders, Department of Public Works, Department of Public Health, Emergency Management, Mass Care, Non-Governmental agencies, and members of various community and tribal groups offering critical emergency response services.

Prerequisites

Based on federal grant requirements IDHS is required to track personnel who attend training that are funded by the Emergency Management Performance Grant.

Each participant will leave with a handmade candle in a 4 oz tin!

The Vincennes Farmers Market is an annual market selling local produce, arts and crafts, taking place every Saturday from 8:30 am - 1 pm and every Wednesday from 4-8pm from Memorial Day weekend until the end of October. The Farmers Market is a popular event and also includes entertainment and food. The vendors will also have a special market on June 27, in commemoration of the 250th year of the Signing of the Declaration.

Offering practical experience of on-scene operations through extensive exercises and simulations, as well as through post-course refresher training by providing students with the opportunity to perform as members of a USFA Type 3 AHIMT during a mock incident management situation///////Target Audience: The target audience of this course is entry level participants who are new to an assignment on an AHIMT. Given its intended audience, participants in this course should include emergency response personnel, such as fire protection and law enforcement personnel, emergency medical services (EMS) responders, Department of Public Works, Department of Public Health, Emergency Management, Mass Care, Non-Governmental agencies, and members of various community and tribal groups offering critical emergency response services.

Prerequisites

Course Description:

This two-day course is designed to develop the decision-making skills needed by Company Officers (COs) to accomplish assigned tactics at structure fires. All activities and scenarios used in this course are based on structure fires. With the real possibility of being the first to arrive at an incident, the CO’s initial decisions will have an impact throughout the entire incident.

It is vital that COs be able to make good management decisions that have a favorable impact on the eventual outcome. In addition to a possible role as the initial Incident Commander, the CO may well be assigned a subordinate position within the Incident Command System organization. COs need to have a clear understanding of the system, the position that they are assigned to, and their role in the organization if they are to function effectively and help make the system work.

This is a shift friendly course offering. Students must attend one session of the Day 1 portion (August 18 or 19) and one session of the Day 2 portion (August 20 or 21).

Our special guest, Adam Grundy, from the Data User and Trade Outreach Branch of the Census Bureau, will give us a demonstration of the Census Bureau's online data tool Census Business Builder for areas in Indiana. The CBB allows data users to find demographic and economic data while exploring opportunities for starting a business, evaluating the impact of disaster/emergency, and more.

Adam Grundy is an outreach specialist professional with over 17 years of experience, possessing a unique combination of technical, statistical and business expertise. Adam has written several key articles for the Census Bureau’s America Counts series that have been published on the main Census website. Adam also received a U.S. Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Award in 2020 for his remarkable customer service. His biography can be found here.

This meeting will provide valuable support and training for anyone working with data or Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The meeting will be moderated by Katharine Springer, director of the Indiana State Data Center.

Whether you are learning to fish or simply seizing every opportunity to be near the water, our Fishin’ Pond is a great place to cast a line. Skilled volunteers will be available to help children cast, fish, and remove fish from lines.

Fishin’ is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the Indiana State Fair from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. ET. The DNR State Fair Fishin’ Pond is located behind the DNR building on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

This activity is appropriate for beginners or experienced anglers. Bait and cane poles are provided. Fishin’ is catch and release only.

Don’t forget to take photos at our photo stations after your fishin’ fun and tag posted pictures with #FishINPond.

Please note that upon arrival, adults will register the children with them and select a fishin’ time. Each child will have a volunteer working with them. Volunteers have completed background checks with the State of Indiana.

The Vincennes Farmers Market is an annual market selling local produce, arts and crafts, taking place every Saturday from 8:30 am - 1 pm and every Wednesday from 4-8pm from Memorial Day weekend until the end of October. The Farmers Market is a popular event and also includes entertainment and food. The vendors will also have a special market on June 27, in commemoration of the 250th year of the Signing of the Declaration.

Free Parking is available at many local parking lots.

Emphasizing the nature and purpose of a USFA Type 3 AHIMT so that others in the community and emergency services are more willing and able to assist within various components of their local USFA Type 3 AHIMT//
Demonstrating the critical role that leadership and teamwork skills play in the success of an USFA Type 3 AHIMT//
Providing a basic framework for building and maintaining critical interpersonal communications and for working together as a team member of an USFA Type 3 AHIMT//
Offering practical experience of on-scene operations through extensive exercises and simulations, as well as through post-course refresher training by providing students with the opportunity to perform as members of a USFA Type 3 AHIMT during a mock incident management situation///////Target Audience: The target audience of this course is entry level participants who are new to an assignment on an AHIMT. Given its intended audience, participants in this course should include emergency response personnel, such as fire protection and law enforcement personnel, emergency medical services (EMS) responders, Department of Public Works, Department of Public Health, Emergency Management, Mass Care, Non-Governmental agencies, and members of various community and tribal groups offering critical emergency response services.

Prerequisites

Based on federal grant requirements IDHS is required to track personnel who attend training that are funded by the Emergency Management Performance Grant.

· The basic principles of tornado science, including geographic distributions, conditions of formation, and typical characteristics;

· The complexities of the tornado forecast process, including current strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to make better informed decisions when severe weather threatens;

· Official tornado and severe weather watches and warnings from the National Weather Service; and

· Preparedness for tornado season including safety measures for themselves, their families, and their organizations when tornadoes threaten.

The discussion of these topics will be framed to maximize the safety of first responders and other emergency staff and their ability to respond to and help others.

Key concepts and discussion topics will be reinforced with facilitator-led group activities that utilize real-world severe storm scenarios. These activities will illustrate the diverse challenges and complexities that can occur during actual tornado events while building participants experience and confidence in anticipating, heeding warnings, and responding to tornadoes.

This course requires dual registration. Students must register with UH-NDPTC.

Fishin’ is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the Indiana State Fair from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. ET. The DNR State Fair Fishin’ Pond is located behind the DNR building on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

This activity is appropriate for beginners or experienced anglers. Bait and cane poles are provided. Fishin’ is catch and release only.

Don’t forget to take photos at our photo stations after your fishin’ fun and tag posted pictures with #FishINPond.

Please note that upon arrival, adults will register the children with them and select a fishin’ time. Each child will have a volunteer working with them. Volunteers have completed background checks with the State of Indiana.

Need to fill a little time (or a rainy afternoon?) Sit down at our puzzle table (500-1500 piece puzzles designed for older children and adults) or play one of our board games.

Just for kids! The kid’s corner has a puppet stage, games, puzzles, large felt board, picture books, touch table, and a “small world” playscape. There’s also a coloring table and a selection of kid-friendly board games.

Recycle your aluminum cans with us! Proceeds fund programs, activities, and exhibits. You can also recycle plastic bottles and paper (no food containers).
