Ticket sales open at least 3 weeks prior to the exam date and close the week of the exam on Monday. All 6 CTP exams are offered at each exam session, in Paper or Electronic format. IMPORTANT: The ticket option selected at registration determines the method of exam delivery:

• Traditional Paper Exam ticket - a bound, paper CTP manual will be provided to the registrant for use during the exam, alongside a Scantron and paper Exam. Results will be emailed to the registrant within two weeks.
  • The paper exam ticket option will not be available following the July 28th session.
  • Registration may be transferred to either Electronic Exam ticket type (if the registrant has an account on the Training Portal and provides their own device) upon request prior to the exam session.
• Traditional Electronic Exam ticket - a bound, paper CTP manual will be provided to the registrant for use during the exam. The registrant's self-provided electronic device will be used to enter the Exam, and results are available immediately upon completion.
  • The registrant must have an account on the Training Portal prior to their session. This cannot be transferred to a Paper Exam ticket type, but may be transferred to an All-Electronic ticket type upon request prior to the exam session.
• All-Electronic Exam ticket - a PDF CTP manual is provided to the registrant for use during the exam. The registrant's self-provided electronic device will be used to enter the Exam, and results are available immediately upon completion.
  • The registrant must have an account on the Training Portal prior to their session. Tickets cannot be transferred to other ticket types.

Registrants taking the exam electronically are required to have an account on the INDOT Training Portal or SuccessFactors no later than the Monday prior to the exam date. This account ID is requested at the time of registration. Please have the registrant's account ID on-hand at registration, or mark 'Pending' when asked. Registrants for electronic exams may not enter "N/A" or variants listed for their account ID.

Two sessions are available on each exam date. Please arrive prior to the test session start time to allow for set-up, sign-in, etc. The session times are as follows:

• The AM session begins at 8:30 sharp and ends at 11:30.
• The PM session begins at Noon sharp and ends at 3:00.

Registrants will be provided everything needed to take the exam upon arrival at the testing location: a CTP Manual per their registration, a standard testing calculator, and a pencil if necessary. Participants may opt to use their own physical, single-use non-programmable scientific calculator upon approval from the administrating proctor. Access to an INDOT Standard Specifications Manual is available upon request. 

Phones must be turned off and put away for the duration of the exam. Exceptions may be addressed with the administrating proctor prior to the exam period, for emergency situations.

If you are taking an Electronic exam and have not previously done so, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to set up your device and ensure a smooth testing experience. Backup paper exams will not be provided for electronic exam registrants.
