500 Festival hosts a Memorial Day service on the north steps of the Indiana War Memorial with the support of the Indiana National Guard and sister services. Historically the keynote speaker for this event is a four-star general. This event is supported with a joint service color guard; the 38th ID Band; a military vocalist, chaplain, and bugler; a full ceremonial cortege; a firing party; and an A-10C Thunderbolt flyover provided by the 122nd Fighter Wing.
