Join the Daviess-Martin Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) and Indiana DNR at Glendale Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) for a hands-on volunteer weed wrangle on Saturday, May 15. The wrangle will focus on removing Amur Honeysuckle and other invasive plants from the property.
Volunteers will learn how to identify Amur Honeysuckle and other invasive species and techniques to control them. Get outside, enhance wildlife habitat, and learn skills you can use in the future. The weed wrangle will begin at the Maintenance shop, located just before the Glendale FWA main office.
Volunteers 13 years and older are encouraged to attend. No special skills are required for the event. Volunteers should wear pants, a light-weight long sleeve shirt, and close-toed shoes for this outdoor event and bring a mask, water, snack, and work gloves. Eye protection and gloves can be provided by DNR. Volunteers are welcome to use provided tools or bring their own loppers and hand saws.
