The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs today released its strategic plans for the agency as well as the Indiana Main Street program. OCRA’s strategic plan creates a roadmap for the agency through 2028, while the Indiana Main Street strategic plan, created in partnership with Main Street America, outlines the program's goals through 2030.

Ahead of the development of OCRA’s strategic plan for rural Indiana, OCRA Executive Director Fred Glynn toured the state's 92 counties where he met with local officials and leaders to learn more about what is directly impacting Hoosier cities and towns. Through these meetings, he gathered specific details on the strengths and obstacles rural communities face, and where OCRA could provide support to help them thrive. This information served as the basis for defining the agency’s future goals.

Interviews and research carried out by Main Street America during 2024 helped shape the Indiana Main Street program’s strategic plan and provided essential guidance for its five-year outlook.

Both strategic plans can be found on OCRA’s website at in.gov/ocra/about/strategic-plan/
