Come help Hovey Lake Fish & Wildlife Area at a  Paddle Trail Volunteer Day 9:00 AM CT, June 17. The event will include helping property staff create a new paddle trail in one of the property’s natural bald cypress sloughs. Volunteers will get the  chance to explore one of Indiana`s most unique natural features and help create more paddling opportunities for people to enjoy.

Sign up to volunteer at https://cerv.is/0064x1824

Volunteer activities will include using loppers to remove brush and putting up trail markers. These tasks will be done while paddling, so participants should be comfortable on their paddlecraft.

Participants should bring their own paddlecraft, life vest, snacks, and water. We will meet at the Hovey Lake FWA office at 9:00 AM and then travel down to the worksite together. Hovey lake FWA Office is located at 8401 Highway 69 S, Mount Vernon, IN 47620

Note: Hovey Lake FWA is in the Central time zone. This event is at 9:00 AM CT

DNR values inclusion and access for all participants and will provide reasonable accommodations for this event. Please contact Zach Schoenherr at 812-838-2927 or [email protected] to make an accommodation request. Requests must be submitted by June 5.
