ICYMI: Attorney General Todd Rokita Meets with Lawrence Community Leaders to Discuss Building Safer Communities

Add to calendar

INDIANAPOLIS  Attorney General Todd Rokita last week joined Lawrence Chief of Police David Hofmann and Lawrence Mayor Steve Collier for a discussion on building safer communities and a tour of the Lawrence Police Department's new headquarters.

"I want to thank the Lawrence Police Department for welcoming me to their headquarters and for allowing me to properly thank them for putting their lives at risk every day to keep Hoosiers safe," Attorney General Rokita said. "It has never been more important to support our police officers. As attorney general, I will always uphold the rule of law and defend – not defund – our men and women in blue."

The department's headquarters – a 37,000-square-foot building located at 5150 N. Post Rd. – opened in late 2019 and includes the city’s dispatch center, interview rooms, a K-9 kennel, a garage to house equipment and vehicles, a fitness center, and a 112-seat community room.
