6:00 pm. Live Birds of Prey. Have a “beak to nose” educational experience with live birds of prey from Salamonie Raptor Center. These permanently injured birds are ambassadors for their species because they would not survive in the wild. Meet at the DNR tent for a chance to meet some of Indiana’s raptors up close and share a donation to support their care.

Friday, October 24

7:00 pm. All Hallows Eve Movies. Bring your blankets, sleeping bags, and lawn chairs, and meet us in the DNR tent in the campground for a couple family friendly Halloween movies. Popcorn provided as supplies last.

 Saturday, October 25

10:00 am. – 12:00 pm. Scavenger Hunt. Grab a scavenger hunt sheet under the DNR tent for this family friendly scavenger hunt. Come and go event. Explore in nature in the fall and enjoy decorations around the campground. Bring the completed sheet back to the tent for a small prize.

9:30 am – 11:00 am. Treat Bag Decorating. Meet at the DNR tent in the campground to decorate your very own bag to use for trick or treating.  (While supplies last)

11:00 am. Entry DEADLINE for Campsite Decoration Contest. Register your campsite at the campground gatehouse “walk-up” window.

11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Hay Rides. Wagon leaves from the DNR tent. Come and see the decorated campsites from the back of a hay wagon. The last ride will leave around 1:45pm. Suggested Donation: $2.00/rider, cash only please

12:00 pm. – 1:30 pm. Tree Cookie Pumpkin Decorating. Come to the DNR tent, while supplies last, to decorate a “Tree Cookie” as a pumpkin or paint your own fall scene!

*Campground roads are closed to all vehicular traffic between 2:00 – 4:30 pm! Vehicles must be parked!*

2:30 – 4:00 pm. Campground Trick-or-Treating. For costumed participants, please.

 As always, check candy before allowing your child to eat it when it comes from strangers.

4:00 pm. Costume Parade and Contest. Categories include: Ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17+; Pets; Family group; Mixed group (friends, multiple families, etc.). Meets at DNR tent in the campground.  Prizes will be awarded in each category!

4:30 – 6:00 pm. Campsite Decoration Contest Judging. Be ready to show off your decorations! The judges will be coming around at this time to find the best decorated campsites. The winners will be posted at the campground gate by 7 pm and will be contacted by staff that evening with prizes. (Park management reserves the right to removal of inappropriate decorations, please remember this is a family friendly event.)

Campers Choice Award: See your ballot with your check-in information. Votes must be turned into the campground gate by 5 pm on Saturday! Prizes will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, and Campers’ Choice!
