A jury convicted Frederick Craft of murdering Kevin Blackmon and attempting to murder a police officer during a shootout in the parking lot of a night club after hours. Craft argues that the evidence was insufficient to support both charges and that the prosecution committed prosecutorial misconduct during its closing arguments. Craft alleges that in closing the State relied on wild speculation and attacks on his character, despite repeated admonitions from the trial court. The State argues Craft waived the claim when he failed to ask the court to admonish the jury.
The scheduled panelists are Judge Bailey, Judge May, and Judge Weissmann.
