Leon Casillas appeals following his convictions of Level 2 felony dealing in a narcotic drug and Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine and his adjudication as a habitual offender.  Casillas argues law enforcement violated his rights under both the United States and Indiana constitutions to be free from unreasonable search or seizure when they conducted a warrantless search of his house.  Therefore, Casillas maintains the trial court should not have admitted the fruits of the search into evidence at his criminal trial.  The State contends the search of Casillas’s home was permissible because Casillas validly consented to the search and the trial court did not err in admitting into evidence the fruits of the search.

The scheduled panelists are Judge Bailey, Judge May, and Judge Weissmann.
