Est. 1988 – Mississinewa Autumn Camping Weekend was the first fall camping DNR hosted event in Indiana.

Maze of Memories – Explore at your leisure an outdoor maze and discover the history of Mississinewa Autumn Camping Weekend. Informative signs posted throughout. Sturdy shoes suggested.
Friday, October 6 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) at Interpretive Program Shelter near the water tower
Weekend Welcome – Stop in for kettle corn. Donations appreciated. Register for events and weekend drawings. Pumpkins for purchase!
Bring on the Baskets – Donate a filled basket/items for the silent auction from your family or company. Auction items also available for bidding Sat. 8:30-10:00 a.m. at the Interpretive Shelter and 1:00-9:00 p.m. at the beach house. Everyone welcome to bid! Winning bidders must be present Saturday at 9 p.m. to receive items. (cash, credit or check accepted)
Shirt Pick-up – Pre-ordered shirts only. See above logo, other colors available.

Saturday, October 7
8:30 - 10:00 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Interpretive Program Shelter near the water tower
Fundraiser by Friends of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services. Donations appreciated.
1:00 - 3:00 p.m. – Pumpkin Decorating, Crafts, and Corn Hole at Beach House*
Pumpkins available for purchase or bring your own, washable paint provided.
Make a craft you might want to bring to the campfire program, materials provided. (Children accompanied by adults.)
Corn hole $5 per person entry, double elimination.
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. – Trick-or-Treat in the Miami S.R.A. Modern Campground
Children accompanied by their adults will walk through the campground. Visitors allowed. (No gory costumes, please.) Campground roads closed to vehicle traffic from 4:15 - 5:45 p.m.
7:30 – 9:00 p.m. – Cooking Contest and Campfire Program at Beach House*
Come sample some special recipes served by fellow campers. 2 categories: chili and dessert. Vote with $ for your favorite; then stay for a special campfire program to celebrate 100 year anniversary of interpretation in Indiana.Cooking contest begins at 7:30 p.m. Campfire program at 8:00 p.m. Live owls will be present from the Salamonie Raptor Center!
9:00 p.m. – Awards and Weekend Drawings at Beach House*
Winners for Cooking Contest, Campsite Decorating, and Weekend Drawings will be announced. Cooking Contest winners receive Blackstone accessory tool kit. Top 3 Campsite Decorating winners awarded free 2024 camping (holiday weekends, ACWs, cabins and AA sites excluded). Final bidding for Silent Auction ends at 9 p.m. Must be registered and present to win.
*Walk/drive or join a hayride. Hayride loading/drop-off at Beach House and Interpretive Program Shelter near the water tower.
