About this Event
4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington, IN 47401
https://www.in.gov/dnr/state-parks/parks-lakes/monroe-lake/events-nature-center/Beginner Kayaking at 9:00 a.m.
Location: Paynetown or Cutright SRA*
*Paynetown SRA is located at the north end of the State Road 446 causeway and Cutright SRA is at the south end. The current water level in the reservoir will dictate which SRA is used for the workshop. Please carefully read the "Reminder & Info" email, sent a few days prior to the workshop, for the final location.
If you love seeing wildlife, or just enjoy exploring, kayaking is for you! Kayaks let you reach backwater areas and quiet bays that aren’t otherwise accessible; it’s a wonderful way to experience Monroe Lake.
This workshop is specifically designed for beginners with zero (or very little) paddling experience. We’ll teach you basic paddling and safety skills and provide supervised paddling time in a quiet water area to practice.
Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are included in the class fee; please do not bring your own. 2.5 hours
Cancellation/Refund Terms
All workshop registrations are final; no refunds are available (unless the workshop itself is cancelled by Monroe Lake). However, you may transfer a paid registration to someone else by emailing [email protected].
However, in the event that Monroe Lake must cancel this workshop due to weather or other causes, participants will be given the option to move their registration to a different workshop date (if space is available), get program credit in the amount paid to use toward any future Monroe Lake program (within 1 year), or receive a full refund.
