Bottomlands Birding Hike at 10:00 a.m.

•    FREE! Registration REQUIRED by Feb. 12 at 4 p.m.: tinyurl.com/eaglesovermonroe
•    Limited to 20 people (NO walk-ups!).
•    Recommended for ages 16 to adult.
•    Program Length: 90 minutes
•    Intersection of Friendship Road & Friendship Lane

Join experienced birders Nancy Lightfoot and Kathy Ruesink, long-time members of the Eagle Nest Watch program at Monroe Lake, for a birding hike in the bottomlands of Salt Creek! This is a special opportunity to bird in the Northfork Waterfowl Resting Area during the winter, when it is normally off-limits to the public. Habitat includes field, forest edge, creek, and wetland, so a wide range of species can potentially be spotted. Eagles are a definite possibility, and the hike will include a look at a Bald Eagle nest. Bring binoculars, if you have them – loaner pairs will also be available.

Registrants will be sent an info email (via Eventbrite) after registration closes on Feb. 12 at 4 p.m., which will include driving directions to the meeting location (check your spam folder, if you don’t see it in your inbox).
