 nnounced Tracy Barnes will step down as the Chief Information Officer & Di
 rector of the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) after serving for more th
 an four years as a key member of the governor’s cabinet.\n\n“Tracy has
  truly taken our state technology infrastructure efforts to the Next Level
  and brought solutions to growing cybersecurity issues at all levels of go
 vernment\,” said Gov. Holcomb. “Within weeks of being named to the pos
 ition\, he and his staff implemented steps nearly overnight to keep the st
 ate of Indiana operating during the pandemic as well as developing longter
 m policy critical to state government operational security.”\n\nBarnes w
 as appointed chief information officer and director of the IOT in March 20
 20. Under his leadership\, the agency:\n\n• Implemented cybersecurity pr
 otections for state employees and agencies\, as well as working directly w
 ith local governments to assist them with cybersecurity training and prepa
 redness \n\n• Created the first agency earn and learn program to reskill
  Hoosiers into technology careers \n\n• Delivered on a multi-cloud strat
 egy to diversify cloud consumption and oversight capabilities \n\n• Earn
 ed top national recognition for data governance and transparency efforts \
 n\n• Became a leader in digital government efficiency and innovation\, i
 ncluding being the first state to launch a full-site\, generative artifici
 al intelligence chatbot to cover information available on the state’s we
 bsite. \n\n• Increased the number of services available to Hoosiers thro
 ugh Access Indiana\, the state’s single sign-on to 150 to simplify citiz
 en engagement \n\n• Led development of a centralized public records acce
 ss portal to reach state agencies \n\nBarnes previously served as chief of
  staff for the Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch\, where he facilitated t
 he creation of the Indiana Broadband Office to support the growth and expa
 nsion of broadband connectivity services across the state\, primarily in r
 ural areas. He also was president and CEO of ENTAP\, Inc.\, a national com
 puter consulting services firm\, for over ten years. \n\nHis last day is J
