About this Event
3333 State Road 60 East, Mitchell, IN 47446
http://on.in.gov/springmillSpring Mill State Park invites you on February 17th and 18th with an event that explores the hardships of the winter for the soldiers of the Civil War.
The Pioneer Village will be open from 11:00am until 3:00pm with the featured event a winter tactical battle at 2:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. At 1:50 visitors will be directed to the viewing areas where they can safely view the battle for possession of the village.
Abraham Lincoln, a Hoosier Hero, portrayed by Danny Russel will be speaking both days at 12:45pm in the grist mill. He provides a compelling one-man show focusing on Lincoln's formative years in Indiana where he lost his mother and sister, taught himself to read and learned the value of hard work. His performance shows the hilarity, heartbreak, and the humanity of America's greatest leader. Lincoln is brought to you by a grant from Lawrence County Tourism
Both before and after the battle visitors are welcome to tour the village and visit with the soldiers.
Park admission during the event is $7 per vehicle for in-state residents and $9 per vehicle for out-of-state residents. 2024 Annual Entrance Passes are also available.
