About this Event
7620 Edgewood Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46239
The current proposed project is in compliance with the State Isolated Wetland Law and with the State’s Water Quality Standards, though concerns have been raised by the Hoosier Environmental Council and from local landowners. There concerns include: 1) effects to the water quality of the Pleasant Run Creek watershed which is shown to have little remaining acres of wetland and a large percentage of impervious surface cover. 2) impacts to the local wildlife which utilize this wetland system and 3) compensatory mitigation (ILF credit) as the mitigation implementation will likely not occur in the Pleasant Run Creek watershed. Due to the local concerns of this project, the number of signatures in the attached petition, and the media and legislative interest, a public hearing may be warranted.
