COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides participants with a forum to address emergency preparedness, prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery related to critical incidents affecting your institution. You will learn to effectively manage a crisis by applying an all-hazards, multi-disciplinary, whole community approach based on the National Incident Management System’s (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS), case studies, and activities to recognize potential gaps in their current crisis management program.
The course combines lecture and team activities and culminates with a practical application, role-play exercise where participants reason through a simulated incident at an institution of higher education.
