Will Young has broad experience in legislative process
INDIANAPOLIS (April 5, 2018) - The Department of Child Services (DCS) announced today Will Young will be its new legislative director. In his role, Young will coordinate the agency’s legislative efforts and work with state legislators on issues and bills before the general assembly.
“I’m honored to be given this opportunity to be an advocate for Indiana youth and their families,” said Young. “It is humbling to be joining such a dedicated team of thoughtful and caring professionals who are working every day to help Hoosier children and families.”
Previously, Young served as deputy legislative director for Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration. He also spent nearly six years working for U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman, first as a legislative assistant and then as legislative director. There, he was responsible for managing the congressman’s legislative staff and policy agenda.
“We look forward to Will serving a crucial role in helping DCS achieve its goal of reaching positive outcomes for the state’s most vulnerable children,” said Terry Stigdon, DCS director. “His experience in the legislative process will be a major asset to our organization.”
Young has bachelor’s degrees in economics and social studies education from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is currently pursuing a law degree at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
