DESCRIPTION:Dates: August 18-21\, 2026\n\nDay 1 August 18 or 19\n\nDay 2 Au
 gust 20 or 21\n\n \n\nCourse Description:\n\n \n\nThis two-day course is d
esigned to develop the decision-making skills needed by Company Officers (
COs) to accomplish assigned tactics at structure fires. All activities and
scenarios used in this course are based on structure fires. With the real
possibility of being the first to arrive at an incident\, the CO’s init
ial decisions will have an impact throughout the entire incident.\n\n \n\n
It is vital that COs be able to make good management decisions that have a
favorable impact on the eventual outcome. In addition to a possible role
as the initial Incident Commander\, the CO may well be assigned a subordin
ate position within the Incident Command System organization. COs need to
have a clear understanding of the system\, the position that they are assi
gned to\, and their role in the organization if they are to function effec
tively and help make the system work.\n\n \n\nThis is a shift friendly cou
rse offering. Students must attend one session of the Day 1 portion (Augus
 t 18 or 19) and one session of the Day 2 portion (August 20 or 21). \n\nRe
