DESCRIPTION:This introductory course provides an overview of the FEMA Disas
 ter Recovery Public Assistance program and process and will prepare font-l
 ine jurisdiction staff and leaders for working within that process. The go
 al being to begin preparing for recovery in advance of a disaster.\n\nPart
 icipants will identify pre-disaster planning and recovery actions. They wi
 ll identify the goals of Federal Disaster Assistance and Recovery Programs
 \, the initial stages application collaboration\, scoping and costing\, an
 d management of the Public Assistance Process. Project funding\, monitorin
 g and closeout will also be explained. Upon successful completion of this 
 course\, the participant will be able to identify the FEMA Public Assistan
 ce program and process that contribute to improving community recovery\, m
 inimizing damage\, and preventing loss. Participants will be able to impro
 ve their understanding of existing Federal\, state\, tribal\, and local re
 covery programs so as to proactively incorporate the full capabilities of 
 all sectors in support of community recovery following a disaster.  \n\nCo
 urse Objectives\n\nIdentify federal disaster assistance and recovery progr
 ams available to jurisdictions following a disaster\nDiscuss the major Fed
 eral disaster assistance and recovery programs available to jurisdictions 
 following a disaster\nDiscuss the operational planning and applicant colla
 boration considerations of the Public Assistance process\nDiscuss elements
  of the initial stages of the FEMA Public Assistance Program process leadi
 ng to scoping and costing\nDiscuss key considerations in formulation and m
 anaging Public Assistance projects\nDiscuss key considerations in funding\
 , monitoring\, and closing out Public Assistance projects\n\nMission Areas
 \n\nRecover\nCommon\nMitigation\n \n\nThis course utilizes a digital deliv
 ery of course materials. Students must download the attached documents to 
 a digital device before the start of class and bring the device with them 
 to class fully charged. If this is a consortium course\, documents will be
  sent from them for download.\n\nReporting Instructions\n\nLodging\, Meals
 \, Per Diem and all other travel expenses are the responsibility of the st
 udent or the parent organization.\n\nThis is a dual registration course. S
 tudents must register with TEEX to receive pre-course correspondence with
