Description:

The DART, Mobile course provides emergency personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to detect, identify, track, assess, respond and report Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) activity. Participants are presented with information on the current UAS criminal and terrorist threat, analog and electronic UAS detection techniques, and response tactics to address this threat.

Course Objectives

  • Recognize Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) uses and components.
  • Recognize the threat posed by the criminal and terrorist use of commercially available Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) technology.
  • Recall Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) regulations and the counter-UAS tactics associated with first responder operations.

New Mexico Tech utilizes a QR code the day of the training, supplied by the instructors for registration, pre/posttests and certificates. Students are required to bring a digital device to class for this course (i.e., tablet or laptop computer).
