https://on.in.gov/fallsoftheohiospEducators are invited to the Falls of the Ohio state Park's annual professional development workshop called the Field Paleontology Institute.
Geared for science educators, especially those focusing on earth and life science, it offers hands on with activities for the classroom as well as personal and professional growth.
Preliminary schedule based on previous years:
June 25—Focus on fossil preservation, rock types with fossils, geological time, extinction, exploring the Falls of the Ohio fossil beds, tools & etiquette for collecting.
June 26—Collecting & identifying Mississippian fossils in the field, paleoecology and constructing ancient food webs.
June 27—Collecting & identifying Ordovician fossils in the field, reconstructing the Ordovician fossil community, and paleontology resources.
COST: $25 / three days.
$10 for the 25th only (based at the park)
$20 for the 25th and either the 26th or 27th. (Includes a field trip)
