Governor Braun Secures Major Disaster Disaster Relief From President Trump, FEMA
 

INDIANAPOLIS – Today, Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced the approval of a major disaster declaration by President Trump through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

This critical support will help Hoosiers recovering from historic storms and flooding. We’re grateful for this partnership as we work to rebuild, recover, and help communities get back on their feet.” — Governor Mike Braun
 

Governor Braun formally requested an expedited major disaster declaration on August 20th. Governor Braun is pleased to announce that the declaration has been approved for individual assistance and public assistance for multiple counties.

Counties not included in individual or public assistance may still be eligible pending additional review and data collection. The expedited approval for the counties listed below means that millions of federal dollars will now be available to assist in Hoosier communities' recovery efforts. 

COUNTIES RECEIVING INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE    
(Assistance to individuals and households)

Carroll, Dearborn, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Porter, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Tipton, Union, and Wayne Counties.

COUNTIES RECEIVING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE 
(Assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities)

Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Porter, Tipton, and Wayne Counties.

 
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security and FEMA will provide joint briefing materials and next steps on Wednesday, August 26.
