Registration is required for this event. To register, call the LaGrange County Parks and Recreation Office at 260-854-2225. Registration is open from August 1 – September 15.
The first 20 who register may receive a free copy of the Growing Up WILD guidebook. The guidebook must be picked up in person between Sept. 1-22, at the LaGrange County Park Office. The free guidebooks are available thanks in funding from the generous support of the DNR/Division of Fish & Wildlife. Participants may also purchase a guidebook online at Acorn Naturalists or www.fishwildlife.org/products.
Participants will be given “homework” activities to complete with family or in the classroom prior to the virtual training. The virtual training will be spent together discussing the “homework” activities, indoor vs. outdoor challenges and adaptations, and the benefits of kinder forest. Certifications will be mailed to those participants who complete the “homework” and attend on Oct. 5. The virtual training portion is available thanks to the generosity of the Forest School Teacher Institute. Check out their full list of classes at www.forestteacher.org.
