https://www.in.gov/dnr/nature-preserves/files/Olin_Lake-color.pdfJoin Indiana DNR ecologist, Tina Flanigan, for a guided spring hike at Olin Lake Nature Preserve on May 9, 2026 at 9 a.m. ET. This 100‑acre preserve protects the entire shoreline of Olin Lake, the largest lake in Indiana with an undeveloped shoreline.
Participants will explore swamp forest along the shoreline and forested upland areas while learning about the ecological history of these unique habitats. Many spring wildflowers are expected to be in bloom for this hike.
This is a moderate, natural‑surface trail hike. Please carpool if possible, as parking is limited. There are no restrooms at the preserve, so plan accordingly. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
Please register to attend this free event.
DNR values access for all participants and will provide reasonable accommodation for this event. Please contact Tina Flanigan at 260-446-4487 to request an accommodation or discuss any questions and concerns. Requests must be submitted at least one week before the event.
