 ed Bradley B. Chambers\, the president\, CEO\, and founder of Buckingham C
 ompanies\, as the state’s Secretary of Commerce beginning July 6.\n\n“
 There is no one more qualified to lead our economic development efforts th
 an someone who’s been a leader in the business for 35 years. Not only ha
 s Brad created\, grown and expanded his business from the ground up\, he
 ’s been focused on how his work contributes to making Indiana the best p
 lace to invest\, work\, and live for his entire career\,” said Gov. Holc
 omb. “Brad will be the next great leader of our economic development eff
 orts\, and he joins us just as we are getting our $500 million READI progr
 am off the ground. We will have a transformational leader at the helm of t
 his transformational project.”\n\nChambers is a leader in the investment
 \, development\, and management of high-quality multifamily and mixed-use 
 properties. Building Indianapolis-based Buckingham Companies with a focus 
 on midwestern values\, creativity\, community involvement and an entrepren
 eurial spirit\, Chambers has led the strategic direction of each of the co
 mpany’s fully integrated divisions\, including development\, constructio
 n\, property management\, and institutional asset management since its sta
 rt in 1984.\n\n“I’m honored to serve the state of Indiana and give bac
 k to a home that has given so much to me over the years. I’m very excite
 d for the opportunity to strengthen statewide entrepreneurship and help dr
 ive Indiana’s overall business climate to the next level. I’m nothing 
 short of impressed with Governor Holcomb’s leadership and ideas for the 
 state and look forward to being part of the team\,” said Chambers.\n\nAm
 ong his community activities\, Chambers is founder and board member of Buc
 kingham Foundation\, Inc.\, a member of the National Multi Housing Council
 \, Young Presidents Organization\, and trustee of St. Paul’s Episcopal C
 hurch. He previously has served on the boards of Indianapolis Downtown\, I
 nc.\, Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership\, and the Indianapolis
  Museum of Art. Chambers also is past vice chair of the Urban Land Institu
 te of Indiana and a former member of the Indiana State Office Commission\,
  the Apartment Association of Indiana and the Indianapolis Police Departme
 nt Civilian Merit Board.\n\nChambers also serves as the chair of the India
 na State Fair Commission. He will remain in that role through this year’
 s Indiana State Fair.\n\nChambers will enter into a two-year contract with
  the Indiana Economic Development Corporation board to lead the IEDC. He w
 ill reduce his day-to-day involvement with Buckingham while he serves as S
 ecretary of Commerce. Buckingham Companies will not be eligible for state 
 of Indiana incentives during Chambers’ tenure with the state.\n\nA high
