IDEM welcomes three new members to the Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention (Partners) inducted three new members at its Quarterly Meeting held on June 30, 2021. This meeting was virtual because of COVID-19 precautions. As members, each organization pledges to implement voluntary environmental initiatives at its facility, share information and expertise with other businesses, foster environmental stewardship among its employees, and help raise public awareness.
Elanco Clinton Laboratories. Elanco Clinton manufactures, formulates and packages animal health products and parasiticides. Operations began in 1970 while operating at an Eli Lilly & Company site. They separated from Eli Lilly in 2019. Their approach to sustainability and “Environmental, Social, and Governance” (ESG) commitments is called Elanco Healthy Purpose, focused on advancing the well-being of animals, people and the planet; the vision being ‘food and companionship enriching life’. Elanco Clinton Laboratories has been a member of ESP since 2007.
Elkhart Plastics LLC - Middlebury. Elkhart Plastics, Inc. (EPI) was founded in 1988 and is a privately held American company. They manufacture rotationally molded plastic parts and are one of the largest custom rotational molding companies in the United States. Elkhart Plastics LLC has three (3) Indiana facilities. The first two, South Bend and Elkhart, were inducted in 2020 and with the induction of the Middlebury plant, Elkhart Plastics LLC is now a corporate Partners member.
PEACE Services LLC. PEACE Services LLC provides professional, environmental and compliance engineering support including auditing, permitting, and reporting services. The mission is to provide affordable services to small to medium size companies that also want to learn and grow through the business relationship. The facility is located in Brownsburg.
These new members join 102 other Indiana businesses that have committed to the Partner Pledge. They also go above and beyond with their commitment to voluntary environmental initiatives. A Partners membership provides each company with opportunities to network with other industries, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and governmental entities which share an interest in pollution prevention. They also will benefit from learning about the financial and environmental benefits of pollution prevention projects from the Partners organization. Partners hold three quarterly meetings a year and an annual conference and trade show, where members exchange ideas, receive regulatory updates, and hear pollution prevention success stories.
