Governor Holcomb and Secretary Chambers will welcome international business executives, industry leaders and foreign dignitaries to collaborate on global challenges and opportunities in the 21st Century
INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 9, 2021) – Governor Eric J. Holcomb and Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers will host the first-ever Indiana Global Economic Summit in Indianapolis next spring to catalyze innovation and opportunities for deeper economic and international cooperation. The summit will take place May 26-29, 2022, culminating in the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500, the largest annual sporting event in the world. The summit will showcase the state’s leadership role in transformative ideas, disruptive technology, and urgent deliberation on the economy of the future.
“The world is more connected now than ever before,” said Gov. Holcomb. “The challenges and opportunities we face are universal, and Indiana is uniquely positioned to be at the center of developing solutions that will power the 21st Century global economy. We look forward to convening partners here in the Midwest to advance economic and cultural relationships, share best practices, and explore tangible solutions to our shared problems.”
The Indiana Global Economic Summit will take place from Thursday, May 26, to Sunday, May 29, 2022, across multiple venues in downtown Indianapolis. The Indiana Convention Center will host conference programming on Thursday and Friday, driving conversations surrounding the economy of the future, with keynotes and panels discussing topics such as next generation industries, sustainability and the green economy, entrepreneurial ecosystems, life sciences in a post-pandemic world, and community-building and placemaking strategies.
Following programming, guests and attendees will participate in race-related activities on Saturday and attend the Indy 500 experience on Sunday. The event is expected to attract government and industry leaders from around the world. Prior to the summit being postponed in 2020, more than 12 international delegations had planned to attend.
Registration will open online in January 2022. Attendance will be limited, so those interested in attending are encouraged to visit indianaglobalsummit.com to sign up for event updates and to express their interest in attending in January.
