 on have a new space to honor veterans if this crowdfunding campaign reache
 s its goal of raising $30\,000 by July 8\, 2025. If successful\, the proje
 ct led by American Legion will receive a matching grant as part of the Ind
 iana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA) CreatINg Plac
 es program. \n\n“This memorial will be a meaningful addition to Union Ci
 ty\," said Matt Rayburn\, Chief Real Estate Development Officer at IHCDA "
 We are grateful to those who have served our country\, and for this opport
 unity to create a permanent space to honor local veterans.”\n\nFunds fro
 m this campaign will be used to create a veteran’s memorial downtown. \n
 \n“We are incredibly excited for citizens to show their support in creat
 ing a place of honor for those who have served our country. It seems that 
 we all have connections to a family member or friend who has served\, and 
 this is a chance to show visitors and future generations how we love and h
 onor the many contributions to our freedom.  We are also delighted that fo
 r every dollar given toward this special endeavor\, IHCDA will match it.  
 It truly is a special opportunity for our community” said Mayor Chad Spe
 nce.\n \n\nSince the CreatINg Places program began in 2016\, projects have
  raised more than $12.8 million in crowdgranting funds and an additional $
 10.7 million in matching IHCDA funds. The program is available to projects
  located in Indiana communities. Non-profit entities (with 501c3 or 501c4 
 status) and local units of government are eligible to apply. Eligible proj
 ects must have a minimum total development cost of $10\,000\, where the re
 cipient will receive $5\,000 in IHCDA matching funds should it successfull
 y raise $5\,000 through Patronicity. IHCDA will provide matching grant fun
 ds up to $50\,000 per project.
