The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services , through the Health Resources Administration, announced the availability of $25.5 billion in new funding for healthcare providers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding includes $8.5 billion in American Rescue Plan for providers that render services to Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program and Medicare patients who live in rural communities. An additional $17 billion will go to the Provider Relief Fund Phase 4 for a broad range of providers that can document revenue loss and expenses related to the pandemic. The combined application for the APR and the PRF Phase 4 will open on Sept. 29, 2021.
