IHCP to host webinar on clinical documentation practices for proper payment, Dec. 16

The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) will host a live webinar for physicians, registered nurses (RNs), advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), compliance personnel and coders to present principles for clinical documentation and review the Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan (SOAP) format for what to include in a note during the clinician-patient encounter.

The webinar will also discuss best practices for effective clinical documentation to ensure proper payment, such as using self-check questions when finalizing a note. Providers will be able to ask questions via a chat feature during the webinar.

Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available for attendees who participate via their web browser. Registration is required.

1. Register by Dec. 16, 2021. Sign up for a Zoom account if you do not already have one, in order to register.

2. At the time of the event, go to:

3. Attend by clicking the Open Zoom Meetings button in the dialog box. If you don't see a dialog box, click the Launch Meeting button.

4. Enter your email and name in the Zoom dialog box.

5. Click the Join Webinar button. The meeting will open in your internet browser.

  • You will be able to ask questions via chat during the webinar.
  • You may also ask questions during the Q & A session at the end of the webinar.
