Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales Visits
Polling Locations During Special Elections
INDIANAPOLIS- (November 4, 2025) – Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales visited several polling locations around the state today as Hoosiers in select counties cast their ballots in special elections. Special elections were held to consider local school funding referendums in Allen, Hendricks, Lake, Perry, and Porter counties.
Starting early, Secretary Morales visited polling sites across the state, greeting voters and thanking poll workers for their dedication to ensuring a smooth and secure election process.
“Every election—big or small—matters. These local decisions directly impact our schools and neighborhoods, and I’m proud of the dedication shown by voters and hardworking poll workers who make election days possible. Our poll workers are the backbone of Indiana’s elections, and I want to personally thank each one of them for their hard work and professionalism. I also want to thank every Hoosier who took the time to vote — your participation keeps Indiana strong and our elections secure,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.
This marks the final “off year” special election for referendums in Indiana, as SEA 1 passed earlier this year included language requiring future referendum votes to be held in the same years as General Elections. This provision appeared in several bills during the prior legislative session and was supported by the Secretary of State’s Office. The intent is to save election costs, align referendums with high voter turnout elections, and to increase transparency for taxpayers.
The Secretary of State’s Office continues to work closely with county election administrators to ensure secure, efficient, and transparent elections across the state.
