DESCRIPTION:The Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission is beginning the
  process of selecting a new Superior Court judge. A vacancy on the Lake Su
 perior Court occurred on October 19\, 2021\, when Judge Diane Ross Boswell
  passed away. Judge Boswell served on the court with distinction for more 
 than 16 years. Senior Judge Kathleen Lang is temporarily filling the posit
 ion until a new judge is selected.\n\nCommission Chairman and Indiana Supr
 eme Court Justice Mark Massa announced applications for the position are a
 vailable online and must be submitted through the Indiana Courts Portal by
  Monday\, December 6 at 12:00 p.m. (Central). \n\nAccording to Indiana law
 \, the Commission is required to submit to the Governor “the five most h
 ighly qualified candidates from among all those eligible” for appointmen
 t when a vacancy arises. Details on the Commission\, including membership\
 , are online.\n\nThe Commission expects to meet in December in Crown Point
  to interview the applicants.
