DESCRIPTION:On December 13\, the Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission
  will conduct interviews of the applicants to fill a vacancy in Lake Super
 ior Court. Judge Diane Ross Boswell passed away on October 19\, 2021\, cre
 ating a vacancy in Criminal Division Room 3. Judge Gina Jones was approved
  for transfer to that court\, under local court rules\, so the Commission 
 will interview for her vacancy in Civil Division Room 6.\n\nThe following 
 12 applicants will be interviewed in the Commissioners/Council Courtroom l
 ocated on the 3rd floor of the Administration Building at the Lake County 
 Government Center\, 2293 N. Main Street\, Crown Point\, IN 46307. All Comm
 ission proceedings\, including deliberations\, are open to the public. Due
  to social distancing\, there will be limited in-person seating. Masks are
  required to enter the building regardless of vaccination status. The sche

 nder's name\, e-mail address\, and a phone number to permit follow-up inqu
 iries.\n\nAfter all interviews have concluded\, the Commission will delibe
 rate. The Commission considers applicants' legal education\, writings\, re
 putation in the practice of law\, and other pertinent information. The Com
 mission vote is held publicly following deliberations.\n\nAccording to Ind
 iana law\, the Commission is required to submit to the Governor “the fiv
 e most highly qualified candidates from among all those eligible” for ap
