The Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission announced five finalists to fill a judicial vacancy. The Commission selected the following nominees for the vacancy created by the passing of Judge Diane Ross Boswell and transfer of Judge Gina Jones:
On December 13, the Commission interviewed 12 candidates and then deliberated. According to Indiana law, the Commission is required to submit to the Governor “the five most highly qualified candidates from among all those eligible” for appointment when a vacancy arises. Upon receiving the list, Governor Holcomb has 60 days in which to make an appointment to the Lake County courts. Details on the Commission, including membership, are online.
