https://on.in.gov/learn2huntJoin us for this beginner squirrel hunting workshop on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET at Sugar Ridge Fish & Wildlife Area. Squirrel hunting is easy place to start putting wild game on your table and practicing your skills in the woods this fall. Whether you're new to hunting or just geared up to try something new this season, we look forward to seeing you!
This adults-oriented (16+) workshop will cover basic squirrel biology, hunting tips, gear selection, safety, regulations, and ways to take your harvest from field to fork (or from the tree to the table, that is). While hunter education is not required for this workshop, the content will build upon the basic principles of hunter education. Prior certification in hunter education, either in person or online is recommended. Find more information on online hunter education here.
The class will consist of a 30–45-minute lecture followed by hands-on activities to help solidify your squirrel hunting knowledge and practice skills you may use in the field. Participants can expect a small amount of walking (up to one mile). Pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Please register to attend this free workshop. See you there!
