$16,512 goal to receive a matching grant through IHCDA’s CreatINg Places initiative
BEVERLY SHORES, Ind. (Oct. 16, 2024) – Beverly Shores will soon improve its space for children to play if this crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $16,512 by Dec. 15, 2024. If successful, the project led by the Town of Beverly Shores will receive a matching grant as part of IHCDA’s CreatINg Places program.
"The renovation of the playground in Lituanica Park will increase access to recreation, promote safe play and improve the overall quality of life in the community for children and their families," said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Indiana's Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. "This project will bring immediate positive change for Beverly Shores residents and make a lasting impact for years to come."
Funds from this campaign will be used to replace an aging swing set, lay new playground mulch and repaint existing equipment. The campaign will also add a new ADA playground access ramp, play panel and activity walk.
"Play is one of the most significant gifts we can give our children," said Steve Coughlin, Parks Committee Secretary for the Town of Beverly Shores. "It is an essential part of learning. When a child plays outside, they explore their physical capabilities, and learn about other children, themselves, and the world around them. Are you ready to support our campaign? Donations and volunteers are needed. Most of the budget will be spent on quality playground equipment and very little on contractors. Giving at any level counts!"
Since the CreatINg Places program began in 2016, projects have raised more than $11.7 million in public funds and an additional $9.8 million in matching IHCDA funds. The program is available to projects located in Indiana communities. Non-profit entities (with 501c3 or 501c4 status) and local units of government are eligible to apply. Eligible projects must have a minimum total development cost of $10,000, where the recipient will receive $5,000 in IHCDA matching funds should it successfully raise $5,000 through Patronicity. IHCDA will provide matching grant funds up to $50,000 per project.
