Martin, Cotterill honored as data leaders
Two leaders at the Indiana Management Performance Hub were recently honored for their work and leadership. Indiana Chief Data Officer Josh Martin was named to the 40 Under Forty Data Leaders in 2022 list by Chief Data Officer (CDO) Magazine. Indiana Chief Privacy Officer Ted Cotterill was honored as an Up and Coming Lawyer by Indiana Lawyer.
Martin was selected in May to CDO Magazine's 40 Under Forty Data Leaders in 2022 list. The list highlights those driving data transformation across various industries around the world. CDO Magazine recognizes those who have contributed to the expansion of data and analytics in their organizations and have used their deep industry experience to handle tough challenges.
Martin has served as the State’s Chief Data Officer and MPH's Executive Director since July 2020 and leads the dedicated team of problem solvers at MPH that provide analytics solutions tailored to address complex management and policy questions resulting in improved outcomes for the citizens of Indiana. Martin is a graduate of Purdue University, receiving a B.A. in Political Science and Law and Society, and his Master of Public Affairs from the Indiana University Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Cotterill was recognized as one of 15 Up and Coming Lawyers as part of Indiana Lawyer’s 2022 class of Leadership in Law honorees. He has distinguished himself both within Indiana and among his peers nationally as an innovator and thought leader in the practice of privacy law and as an enabler of technological innovation in government. Cotterill’s contributions in this space have provided a valuable legal foundation on which Indiana has become recognized nationally for its achievements.
Cotterill earned his JD from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, a BS in Political Science from Ball State University, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
