 nThis program is designed to take the complex topic of a radiological acci
 dent response and break it down into easily understood modules and hands-o
 n practical exercises. Students will be presented with the training to sim
 plify the topic while developing a comprehensive understanding of radioact
 ive material\, radiological survey instruments\, decontamination technique
 s for handling radiologically contaminated victims\, and resources availab
 le to responders during a response.\n\n\nAn important element of the train
 ing is detailed information on the types of packages used to transport rad
 ioactive material. The course includes the use of “live” radiation sou
 rces in the practical exercises to reinforce learning. Upon successful com
 pletion of the MERRTT course\, students will receive a certificate from th
 e Department of Energy’s Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program.\
