About this Event
North Vernon Vet-to-Vet Peer Support Meetings provide a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment where veterans can connect with fellow veterans who understand the challenges associated with military service. Our meetings focus on peer support, education, encouragement, and community engagement while fostering open discussion about issues that may affect veterans and their families, including PTSD, moral injury, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and suicide prevention. North Vernon Vet-to-Vet is a peer support organization. We are not doctors, therapists, counselors, or mental health professionals. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or counseling services. Instead, we offer peer-to-peer support, shared experiences, educational information, and referrals to professional resources when appropriate. Our mission is to help veterans and their families build better lives, restore the warrior spirit, and bridge the gap between those who served and those for whom they served. We provide information, resources, encouragement, and opportunities for veterans to learn from one another, strengthen community connections, and find support from fellow veterans. Family members, caregivers, and supporters are welcome to learn more about available resources and how they can assist veterans on their journey toward healing, recovery, and personal growth. North Vernon Vet-to-Vet Mission Helping veterans and their families build better lives by restoring the warrior spirit and bridging the gap between veterans, their families, and the communities they served.
North Vernon Vet-to-Vet Peer Support Meetings are held every Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Seymour Public Library, 303 W.2nd Street, Seymour, Indiana 47274. These weekly peer support meetings bring veterans together to discuss the effects of trauma, PTSD, and other service-related challenges. Using educational materials, resources, and evidence-based information provided by the U.S. Department of VeteransAffairs, combined with the real-life experiences of fellow veterans, participants learn practical coping skills, share what has worked for them, and support one another in their personal growth and recovery. North Vernon Vet-to-Vet is a peer support organization and is not a medical, counseling, or therapy service. We do not provide clinical treatment. Instead, veterans help veterans by sharing knowledge, encouragement, resources, and lived experiences in an honest and supportive environment. The organization is not government funded and relies on the generosity of private donors and community support. This independence allows us to focus on providing
education, resources, and peer support without unnecessary barriers, while helping veterans and their families build stronger, healthier lives.
