 DEM) presented Northlake Auto Recyclers\, Inc.\, located at 105 Industrial
  Road\, Hammond\, Ind.\, with its ninth Indiana Clean Yard-Gold Level awar
 d in recognition of the company’s efforts to protect the environment.\n 
 \nIDEM Senior Environmental Engineer Hani Sharaya with IDEM's Compliance &
  Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) with IDEM Pollution Prevention and Co
 mpliance Assistance Manager Julie Rhodes\, presented a commemorative certi
 ficate to Northlake Auto Recyclers\, Inc. owner Marty Hollingshead.\n\nThi
 s year\, Northlake Auto Recyclers\, Inc. also has the distinguished accomp
 lishment of being the only facility to earn 100% on its Indiana Clean Yard
  inspection. Mr. Hollingshead has been instrumental in working with the au
 to recycling industry and IDEM to recommend enhancements that promote the 
 growth of Clean Yard program and encourage high standards for environmenta
 l stewardship within the industry.\n\nSalvage yards receive and store wrec
 ked vehicles containing antifreeze\, gasoline\, oil\, brake fluid\, transm
 ission fluid\, batteries\, mercury switches\, and tires. If not managed pr
 operly\, wrecked vehicles stockpiled in salvage yards can pose an environm
 ental threat. IDEM is committed to helping auto salvage recyclers ensure e
 nvironmental protection.\n\nIDEM has partnered with Automotive Recyclers o
 f Indiana (ARI) to develop the "Indiana Clean Yard" recognition program to
  reward auto salvage yard operators who meet two different levels of requi
 rements: “Indiana Clean Yard” and “Indiana Clean Yard – Gold Level
 .”\n\nAll Hoosier businesses\, including auto salvage recyclers\, can ob
 tain free\, confidential compliance assistance and request confidential si
