Naturalists, teachers, scout leaders, homeschool parents, and all other educators are invited to Gibson Woods Nature Preserve to engage with easy nature and science learning for little explorers.

The free workshop will begin at 4:30 p.m. CDT and last until 8 p.m. The covered activities are designed for children ages 3-7 in Pre-K and K-2 settings as they begin to learn about the environment we all share. Topics include outdoor exploration, scientific inquiry, and conservation. The curriculums are designed to connect to other subjects, building ties to art, music, reading, math, and movement.

For attending educators, snacks, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mugs and to dress for the weather, as some activities will be outside.

Space is limited!  Registration is open through April 11 or until full. Register using the form found here: https://secure.rec1.com/IN/lake-county-in/catalog?filter=c2VhcmNoPTM0NTk0ODQ=

Participants will receive the 'Getting Little Feet Wet' and 'Growing Up WILD: Exploring Nature with Young Children' curriculum guides, as well as Professional Growth Experience Points upon completion. Project WET and Project WILD are programs of the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife and Division of Nature Preserves. To learn more, visit https://www.in.gov/dnr/fish-and-wildlife/education-programs/project-wild/
