About this Event
The IDHS AUXCOMM team is looking to increase county participation in the radio net checks, as they are critical for emergency communications. The team runs an HF and VHF net every week on Thursdays (beginning Jan. 2, 2025). While the nets are set up for the counties to check in, any ham operator may participate.
WEEKLY NETS
Effective Jan. 2, 2025, the 2m/70cm occurs every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET (20:00). Counties close to Indianapolis can use the W9FBZ repeater, 147.210, 88.5 PL tone. You can also reach the team on the 1.25m repeater on 224.8, 88.5 PL. These two repeaters are linked.
Counties more distant may use Echolink, node 690934. If you or your county teams do not have Echolink, contact the state AUXCOMM team and it will help you set it up.
Note: Operators MUST be a licensed ham to use Echolink.
Getting every county to check in is the goal. Please help the AUXCOMM team (and your county) by reaching out to your local ARES/RACES/AUXCOMM teams and checking in.
Effective Jan. 2, 2025, the HF net begins at 7:30 p.m. ET (19:30). This net will be held on or about 7.250 MHz. If the frequency is in use, search downward before moving up from that frequency. The HF frequency will be announced on the VHF/Echolink systems at approximately 7:20 p.m. ET (19:20).
For questions or comments on the nets, contact IDHS AUXCOMM Net Administrator Jeff Wonser (K9WNZ) at [email protected].
