COURSE DESCRIPTION

Community Lifelines Overview
This Community Lifelines overview will provide participants with a basic understanding of what the Community Lifelines are, and the importance of understanding Community Lifeline impacts after a disaster, to better understand how to keep society functioning and restore essential services following a disaster. Community Lifelines are important for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery and understanding how to providing situational assessment reporting on Lifelines during steady-state operations as well as disaster response and recovery is a critical task of the emergency management community.

Resilience Analysis and Planning Tool (RAPT) Overview
The Resilience Analysis and Planning Tool gives everyone access to powerful data and GIS mapping that can help everyone understand their community. This training will provide attendees with a basic overview of the RAPT, explore some of the more than 100 preloaded layers that include community resilience indicators, current census data, infrastructure and hazards, and gain a better understanding of how the RAPT can support the emergency management and first responder community in preparedness, planning, response, recovery, and mitigation activities.
