Description:

The Response to Bombing Incidents, Mobile (RBI) course trains emergency personnel of all disciplines to respond to the growing number of bombing incidents across the United States. This course guides participants through bombing response challenges and bombing threat response considerations, including evaluating threats when making evacuation vs. shelter-in-place decisions, and response priorities following the immediate aftermath of a bombing.

Course Objectives

  • Recognize explosive compositions and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
  • Describe blast hazards, blast injuries, and protective actions to mitigate the risk of injury.
  • Assess bombing threats, their unique circumstances, and response considerations.
  • Recognize response strategies to secure and manage a post-bombing scene.
