INDIANAPOLIS- (April 15, 2024) – Secretary of State Diego Morales has returned from Germany after participating in the Official Guest Program of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Secretary Morales was the only Secretary of State selected to participate in the delegation. The exclusive delegation included seven leaders from across the country.

While overseas, Secretary Morales toured businesses, met with officials, and attended meetings discussing trade between Indiana and Germany.

He also met with several elected leaders including members of the Bundestag Parliament, State Parliaments, military officials, the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission, and the U.S. Consul General. Secretary Morales also took time to thank American officials at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.

Several productive meetings throughout this official trip were focused on elections, auto, and business.  All three are Divisions under the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office. Secretary Morales learned valuable insight about the election process in Germany while sharing best practices. He toured the Volkswagen facility, gaining knowledge about the auto industry. Secretary Morales also visited the Advanced Mask Technology Center to learn more about the semiconductor/chip industry.

As Secretary of State, I will always strive to strengthen ties internationally and showcase all the Hoosier state has to offer,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.

This marks Secretary Morales’ fourth official international trip since taking office. Secretary Morales wants to thank the program organizers of the Federal Republic of Germany.
