The Senior Monday Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m., Oct. 2, at the Salamonie Lake Interpretive Center. Anyone age 50 or older is welcome to attend.
Huntington North High School seniors Hanna Surfus, Madi Watts, and Ella Hall will be presenting a program called From Manatees to Coral Restoration where they will discuss their recent educational adventures in South Florida. Topics will include snorkeling with West Indian Manatees, air boating in Everglades National Park, night kayaking out to Shell Key Preserve, touring the Turtle Hospital, snorkeling on the third largest coral reef system in the world and learning about coral reef restoration by staying at the world-renowned Mote Marine Laboratory.
Special note: The meal will begin at 11:30 a.m.; the speakers will present their program at noon. Guests should bring a side dish to share, a beverage, and their own table service. The main dish of white chicken chili is provided. A donation will be accepted to help defray costs.
