Come to one of Indiana's darkest night skies at Shades State Park to view the peak of the Perseid Metoer Shower! The Perseid is the largest meteor shower of the year in the northern hemisphere, showcasing 90 meteors/hour or more. We will have two telescopes set up to view celestial objects in a main viewing area, in addition to watching the magic of the our solar system. The main viewing area will be on Pine Hills Road, which will be closed to all vehicular traffic. A map will be provided upon entrance (also on our Facebook page) showing shuttle pick-up locations from parking lots to the main viewing area. You may also walk to the main viewing area on routes shown on provided map. We cannot wait to spend an evening with you under the sky!
