Eclipse activities scheduled for the beach this Sunday will be moved to the wildlife management pond, also located in Lost Bridge West SRA. IF beach parking is unavailable Monday for eclipse viewing, the Lost Bridge West SRA boat ramp will be used instead. Please check back here or on Facebook for updates.
Join us Monday, April 8, to view the Great American Eclipse at the historic Mississinewa 1812 Battlefield (Remote Viewing Area). Enjoy a historical program detailing events around the eclipse of 1806, the previous total solar eclipse in this area. There will be several demonstrations to view the eclipse including a telescope, projections, and pinhole viewers. Regular announcements will inform participants of the different stages of the eclipse as it is happening.
12:30 p.m. – Remote location entrance gate open. Campers and weekend Eclipse activity day visitors, be sure to have your annual entrance pass or your paid receipt of property entrance, otherwise entrance of $2 per person to the program area.
4:30 p.m. – Eclipse ends, disperse from remote location.
Eclipse stickers, $5, and viewing glasses, $3, will be available for sale while supplies last (tax included).
Remote viewing location participants should bring lawn chairs. Hotdogs and drinks available for donation, sponsored by Friends of Mississinewa Lake.
Lost Bridge West SRA gate entrance fees apply, $7 per in-state vehicle; $9 per out-of-state vehicle. Annual passes available for purchase.
