DESCRIPTION:STATEMENT: Statement from Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith re
capping 2025:\n\nINDIANAPOLIS – "As Hoosiers across the state get ready
to ring in a new year\, I want to take a moment to look back at the work o
ur office delivered in 2025.\n\nThis year our office focused on responsibl
e stewardship of taxpayer dollars\, support for families and faith communi
 ties\, and practical\, real-world results for Hoosiers.\n\nWe tightened op
erations within our own office and pushed back on unnecessary spending. Mo
re than $100\,000 in wasteful contracts were eliminated\, and existing agr
eements were reviewed and renegotiated to ensure accountability.\n\nStreng
thening partnerships with faith-based organizations was a major priority.
Our office established the Office of Faith-Based Initatives to better conn
ect churches and nonprofits with opportunities to serve their communities.
We engaged directly with faith leaders and removed barriers that had kept
churches on the sidelines. \n\nIn coordination with the Attorney General'
s Office\, our office helped establish a Churches' Bill of Rights. This ef
fort pushed back against growing goverment intrusion and clearly affirmed
protections for religious organizations so they can operate according to t
heir beliefs while serving their communities.\n\nParental rights in educat
ion remained a priority. Our office pushed back against ideologocial advoc
acy in classrooms and inappropriate content in public institutions. We sto
od firm for transparency\, parental involvement\, and local control\, and
we did not back down from that position.\n\nThrough the Office of Communit
y and Rural Affairs\, our office directed millions in federal funding to 1
1 Indiana communities for water systems\, infrastructure\, and community r
evitalization. OCRA also improved the CDBG grant process so small towns co
uld better navigate applications and compliance\, cutting through red tape
that too often slows progress.\n\nWorking with the Indiana State Departme
nt of Agriculture and industry partners\, our office supported efforts tha
t led to a $6.4 billion export agreement with Taiwan for Indiana grown cor
n and soybeans. Expanding market access strengthens farm income and helps
protect the future of Indiana agriculture.\n\nOur office also continuted t
o push for farmland preservation and insisted that local voices be heard a
s development decisions move forward.\n\nThis work will continue in the ye
ar ahead with the same focus on accountability\, families\, faith\, freedo
m and farmers. \n\nWe look forward to building on this progress in 2026.\n
 \nGod bless Indiana. "\n\n
